of the original sod. "Howard says that the seeding of the grass caused a few problems. "About 40 people and I laid sod on the field," he says. "After three weeks, on July l5, we had only gotten halfway through.
I told them that it had taken us three weeks to get that far, and I would give them three more week's pay for however long it took. I also told them we would have 50 gallons of ice cream when we got through. After that it took them three days to do the rest of the field. Then we sat down in the middle of the field and ate up that whole 50 gallons "

Looking bad last year should be no reason to re-sod or re-sprigg the field. Hybrid Bermudagrass is very aggressive and using the right cultural practices and keeping it fertilized will get it as good as it can possibly get.

Mike's still there but I don't think he is on Tnet. Mike does an outstanding job, so one thing I never worry about is the athletic fields. Mother nature has an awful lot to say about growing conditions, but the University helped her a lot when the field was redone and they went to a sand based growing medium ot promote better drainage. I am pretty sure that a drainage system was put under the field, but I don't think SubAir was installed, like they use under the greens at Augusta National. Some ballparks have it, like the new College World Series stadium in Omaha.

4 banks not enough. Too dim at night. Looks like it's about half of daylight.

ACTUALLY, we r adding an entirely NEW lighting system with all the bells and whistles. (New video board @ THE HILL & sound system will follow) Lighting system was going in for this, 2020, season but Covid-19 placed it on a temporary hold. I am told ALL will b done by 2021 season. GO TIGERS!!

Mike is my neighbor. He’s one of the best in the business. You will never have to worry about the turf.
