Any English Majors or a person with good grammar skills?

Jan 23, 2016, 9:19 PM

Would it be National Champions Runner-up, or National Champions Runners-up, or National Champion Runner-up?

difference between "your" and "you're", don't you? I am not an English major myself, but to answer your question, my guess would be "National Champions runners-up", because we are the runners-up to the national champions. On the other hand, Clemson is the runner-up to the national champion. ?????

Or don't have an edit button? Lmao. Also, team is singular, but what do I know wif my diploma?

I am one also, but I think it would be...

whether or not it is necessary to plural after a plural. The term is definitely "National Champions," however "runner-up" can also refer to a team, not just a singular contestant.

I would say ACC champion and Orange Bowl Champion. I do not like being reminded of a loss.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

The most accurate is how you're referring to.........

Jan 23, 2016, 10:31 PM

to the "team" which is singular or the "players" which is plural.

It would be correct to say the Tigers are the National Championship Runners-up (not National Champion Runners-Up).

It would be correct to say Clemson University is the National Championship Runner-Up (not National Champion Runner-Up).

The University of Alabama is the National Champion.

The Crimson Tide players are the National Champions.
