Swinney expects Kelly to play this season

Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney said that Clemson's medical staff thinks that freshman quarterback Chad Kelly tore his ACL Saturday. However, Swinney said the team likely won't pursue a medical hardship for Kelly, and he expects the New York native to play at some point in the 2013 season. Full Story »

Why not at least try for the hardship. Rushing someone...

back from an ACL is not good.

By now, can't people trust this coaches decisions?

I totally agree with you. With a torn ACL, you are typically looking at a year for a full recovery. Rushing that process is unwise to say the least.

Its a fair question. . see Tony Steward.***

If it truly is an ACL, there is no way Chad should see the field at anytime during the season. It is not in Chad's best interest to do so. Apply for the hardship!

Agree. It shouldn't even be a consideration.***

He wont be eligible for a 6th year unless he redshirted last season b/c of an injury ( which he didnt).

Medical Hardship for Kelly.

Its a real possibility... but prolly can not/will not apply for until after the season. Everything will be known by then... a miracle recovery or going through the rehab grind.

In any case... good luck to Chad.

Helluva start yesterday

He has already red-shirted and it was not injury related

It would be close to impossible to get another red shirt.
