500,000 people registered to vote

in MI that are not eligible to vote. There is a nursing home that is defunct in Detroit that has 127 people at that address registered to vote.
How about they clean up the voter rolls and not allow conspiracy theories to even start or grow. The ineptitude of government officials cause the issues from moment one.

Lunk? 500,000. Wow.
For those 127 people. Are they dead? Or did they just not change their address when the nursing home closed down?
Sounds serious.

What an incredibly racist idea. LOL, Detroit. Anything said about Detroit is racist.
You would disenfranchise all the ineligible and non-existent voters of their sacred right to vote. And there’s nothing more important than protecting that sacred right, that’s why we can’t allow voter ID.

So y'all are still harping on this one? Let me help.

500,000 absentee APPLICATIONS were returned because of dead people or no longer residents.
Applications returned. Which means they weren't filled out and those people didn't vote.
End of story.

and are not eligible to vote. Purge the rolls and make sure that there isn’t even a chance for a ballot to get in the wrong hands.

Can you describe how this "purge" would work ? How would you determine who had moved and who had died ?

Jesus,
They are using the return ballot applications to clean up the voter rolls ! Isn't that what you wanted ??
Directly from your source:
"Benson has been criticized for the May mailing to 7.7 million qualified voters in Michigan because some applications went to people who had long since moved or died. But the Detroit Democrat has maintained in the months after the mailing that the returned applications would help to guide efforts to clean up the state's voter rolls of transient or deceased individuals still on the state lists.
"We expect the majority of maintenance will take place after the Nov. 3 election, when federal law no longer limits such action," she said, referring to federal election law preventing list maintenance 90 days before an election."

Well, sure. I am perfectly favor of people with established death certificates being purged from the voter rolls.
The bigger problem here is there is very little any of us can do as the situation presently exists to convince your side that elections are "fair" even if we put Republicans in place to monitor or even administrate elections - as they did in, say, Arizona or Georgia - and watch the whole process to assure you that things are aboveboard.
Why? Because your freaking preferred "conservative media" sources have realized there's massive money to be made feeding you completely fact-free conspiracy theories and they're going to keep doing it as long as they're allowed to.
Does it matter that this country is tearing the country apart at the seams because a bunch of not-so-bright people drank the Kool-Aid? Not to them. A buck's a buck.

It's 2021, there should be a national database and automatic voter registration.

Manac,
There are almost 10 million people in Michigan. Perhaps you could devise a more efficient system for keeping track of all of them .
