Can somebody explain how the computer rankings work?

I have no idea how Massey has us ranked 45th. 20 spots behind the power houses of Louisiana Tech, Northern Illinois, and Western Kentucky.

Does this make sense to anybody?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

They don't,that's why we need a playoff.
People have the same problem and they wrote the programs.

Most of the computers take bias out

Basically the first factor is your won loss record. Then they factor in the won loss record of the teams you played and the won loss record of the teams they played. So basically the ACC is going to be at a disadvantage because we did very poorly in OOC games. Last year was different because we beat Auburn who did rather well going forward. Also VT was undefeated other than to Clemson. Basically our opponents suck, and we are paying the price.

WKU can be ranked 20 spots ahead of us because they play worse teams that play other bad teams and win?

They are kinda missing a big factor in that programming.

They put an old counting machine in a room full of baboons for about 20 minutes and whatever comes out is the BCS rankings

The game that hurts is fsu and not only for the loss.. Fsu was beaten by NCST and they were beaten by the vols which turned out to be a bad team in the sec .. Once we beat NCST , it will hel out a lot
