Observations from SCar fans from their Spring Game

- McIlwain is a faster, stronger arm, and better version of DW4
- Frosh WR B. Edwards which we wouldn't take as a WR is now basically Sammy, Nuk, and Martavis all rolled into one since he caught 2 TD passes.
Their optimism is quite laughable.

The fact that they even think they can compare McIlwain to Watson just speaks to how utterly stupid most of their fans are.

Bad if not worse than it was last year. I've seen absolutely no reason to think they're better off this year than they were last. They're a bad football team through and through. This is the same bullshite some people said last year, just replace Lorenzo nuñez with McIllwain and that deebo kid with Bryan Edwards. They'll throw McIllwain under the bus like nuñez and will repeat the same bullshite with Jake Bentley. I'm telling you this now so don't act all surprised when the cycle repeats.

Have you looked at their cupcake schedule? They play ONE great team and ONE almost decent team that has a new coach (UGA). They could realistically be 11-0 when they come to Death Valley with that insanely weak schedule.

I'm guessing 4-8, 5-7 at the most.

Did you notice how they were giving Mcilwain extra yardage after he was touched?
On his first TD run there was a blatant hold but the announcers claimed that Muschamp "let it go".....

Not hard to see. McIlwain can scoot, no doubt. He's also (much) less than his listed height of 6 feet - truthfully he reminds me kind of Reggie Ball from Georgia Tech back in the day. Maybe 5'10", tops. I don't know if he has quite the arm Reggie Ball had - Ball really did have quite a cannon - and I do think he can probably do some damage on the deep fade ball. Problem is, unlike Ball, McIlwain will not have a Megatron out there to just lob passes up to. He also doesn't have a Tashard Choice running in behind him.
He'll likely have exactly the same problem Ball did, too. Because of his lack of height, he's going to have to pick "windows" to throw to downfield, which means you'll see a disproportionate amount of screens to the perimeter, deep bombs, and teams will likely quickly figure out he can't work layered routes over the middle because he just plain can't see well enough to find them consistently.
Connor Mitch is still terrible. He's DOA and he knows it.
The rest of that team....yeesh. They're going to have to do a complete top-to-bottom rebuild. What on Earth happened to their talent?

If you dont have weapons to spread the field, it doesnt matter how great of arm your qb has, and if the offensive line doesnt block and gets beat at the point of attack then your best best is to line up in the wishbone and run the triple option time killing offense.
