I disagree. IMO, this law suit will have people talking. When you are in this situation you WILL talk the truth if you are one that had nothing to do with it other than hiding it. It will be through attorneys, but the defendants will talk, as well as other members of the frat.

There are more relaxed rules in a civil litigation than in a criminal one. They only way sometimes to get the pieces needed is interrogatories, depositions and discovery sometimes things that are not admissible in criminal. One little thing they find out may break the whole case wide open. They will not get any money from the fraternity it is well protected on the national level. Thank God I am not in these parents position. I proudly await my son's graduation in a few weeks. However, if I can briefly try to imagine the agonizing frustration they must feel at the glacial pace of this investigation by CUPD, Oconee County Sheriff's Office, and the puzzling indifference by the Solicitor, I can imagine filing a civil action in an attempt to break any covert alliances among the witnesses.
As for Clemson - the suit in no way tarnishes my feelings of affection and respect for my son's soon to be Alma Mater. I see this for what it is.....heartbroken parents desperately trying any avenue they can to get these fraternity members to finally step up and be men....whatever occurred on that bridge. There is ZERO percent chance that no one knows. ZERO.

Point. They only chased money in civil court after legal. Even so. If found innocent in court, I don't think anyone should be found guilty in civil for money. Even OJ who was likely guilty. It's now about money.
