A close loss is a win, but only if you are in the SEC.

A close win can actually be an ugly loss, if you are in the ACC.

A close win can actually be a big, helping win if you are in the Big 10.

Close losses or wins do not seem to make a difference if you are in the Pac 12, or Big 12, as those conferences are just extemporaneous outliers.

Hope this clears things up.

The conference you play in is ALL that matters. What is good or bad varies depending on the conference.

The opponents are what matters. The SEC is tougher. People know that.
