His take: Scott leaned into Marlon Humphries.
Rest of the world: Marlon Humphries tackled Scott.

Scott may have leaned in on Humphries, but

Humphries didn't have to wrap his arms around him if he was trying to make the switch to cover Hunter. But at that time he clearly tried to wrap Scott up and take him down.

I noticed he didn't mention the defensive holding on Scott that made the "pick" more effective & helped disrupt the switch in coverage. That's what had Scott in the defender's chest & at his feet. Also the targeting on Renfrow which would've resulted in not having a kickoff after the PAT. All about perspective but after all was said & done the strength of that Alabama team was their defense & they didn't hold serve

WHO GIVES A CARP ABOUT ALABAMA'S POINT OF VIEW?
What about the missed targeting calls on Deshaun and Mike Williams? What about the non-holding calls on our defense on Alabama's last two touchdowns. They were tackling our guys.

For a Bama Fan Pretty Knowledgeable Where He Fails

A small but very important detail as the contact, which also you can see the CB wrap his arms around the receiver

BAMA never really loses. Sometimes they don't want to be there. Sometimes the ref fails to call a penalty they want to see called. I heard Saban today say their defense played well most of the game but simply did not finish. You See, Bama never really loses.
And they don't get called for targeting either.

play.
Call it a rub or a pick, I believe Dabo, Elliott, and Scott all mentioned that they called those plays in part because the refs were from the Big 12 and they knew Big 12 teams run a lot of those routes and don't get penalized often for them. That's great scouting right there!

And, of course, there was the "pay back" and "take a bow" plays that came after the "Clemson Tide" pitch catch from Watson to Renfro. So, in your face, Bamer fans.

The second that Humpries engaged Tay
May 17, 2017, 3:35 PM

it stopped being a pick. Watching the film, with the head ref he said that when the defender 'engages' the wide reciever then it cannot be called a pick. If anything Humphries could have been called for holding on Tay.
Touchdown, National Champions....Bama tell yourself whatever you have to tell yourself to get to sleep.
