They want it so bad, don’t they? They will feel the irony of leaving Clemson in a solid 3rd place when they go 15-0 again. Nobody puts Dabo in a corner.

I just hope that whoever gets #2 spends their time after the rankings are announced trying to explain why they should have been #1 instead of having a chip on their shoulder and going about their business.

Those teams that put a chip on their shoulder and go about their business are usually ready to play when the playoff games roll around. ;)

My take is all this theater from Finebaum creates good drama for Clemson and Dabo’s team motivation. As you allude, once #2 team gets paired against Clemson, there will be a mutual admiration society between coaches. And espn and other talking heads will start debating if OHST and LSU can truly compete with Clemson’s championship experience.
