How to tell if a ticket is legit?

Nov 20, 2012, 10:51 AM

Buying a ticket this weekend, how can I tell it's legit? Anything specific?

Holograms and bar codes.

I personally wouldn't risk anything printed off a computer or without a hologram.

Buy it from the ticket office.***

No way to be 100% sure with scalped tickets anymore

example:

If I sell my ticket on StubHub I still have the original ticket stub. They only transfer the bar code. I then sell you the "dead" ticket outside the gate.

The ticket looks like a legit ticket, you don't find out its not until you try to scan it at the gate.

I believe the original bar code is disabled

and stub hub issues a new bar code on the email ticket.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but only the original season ticket holder can transfer the tickets electronically via the ticket office or Stubhub. So it would be pretty dumb to sell the old invalid tickets. Way too easy to track down the guilty party.

Don't think that is the case

Nov 20, 2012, 11:30 AM

I think any ticket with a bar code can transfered on Stubhub.

Yeah you are right it would be fairly easy to track down. But clemson has pretty much said "buyer beware" on that. If you wanted to be an a$$hole and not be caught, sell it to a scalper.
