And to think I was looking forward to the season. Thanks for the spoiler Herbie. Guess the new Hill Watch is now 376 days.

It’s not a crazy assertion that Bama would beat us this year. We are by far the 2 teams with the least question marks so I believe we will be 1 and 2 in playoffs. Bama has a great offense and are rebuilding on defense but by end of year will be gelled. I think with TLaw our passing game will be better, slight edge in RB talent, I hope equal on Oline (which is a win for us), and edge to our def. but honestly it’s not out of reach to think they will beat us. It will be another great game between the 2 elites of college football.

Bama's back to having very, very bad problems with their LB depth. They lost 6 to graduation/attrition/NFL, only picked up three in the offseason (counting the one they just poached right off Washington's roster - hey, what transfer rule?), and have had a couple of guys go down to season-ending injuries already.
Bama also lost 6 coaches over the offseason, including both coordinators...and sorry, I am just not sold on Mike Locksley as their OC. Their new DC is from in-house and unproven as well.
I'm going against the grain and saying: this is a year where Bama unexpectedly drops off...just a bit.

I think there DB losses will have a greater impact than LB. let’s face it Bama churns out LBs like we do WRs.
The DC impact is nil considering they have had the same DC as long as they have had HC. As for OC, run left, run right, pass to flats.... did I miss anything?
Kidding about the OC as he is unproven. I think we have less question marks than they do but to say it’s not possible for them to beat us isn’t realistic in my opinion. Again I think it’s us 2 and everyone else.

Herbie went with the safe choice

Understandable based upon beat-down Bama put on us last year without talented Tua on the field. Clemson certainly has the 1st team and backup talent at most positions to prove Herbie wrong in 2018. As will be well documented, it will come down to QB play.

Best head coach (non-Saban edition)
I think the guy, if you’re buying a stock, is "Kirby Smart." He’s on his way. They’re about to be a force. They’re not going away. I would put him right there.
