Who gives a rats a## where he goes
If he was as great as some of you think he wouldn't be transferring.

Well, I care.

Him winding up at South Carolina would be durn interesting, at least to me. Yes, he had a turnover problem, and he especially seemed to have a composure problem. Then again, guys melting down under the bright lights at Notre Dame does not necessarily mean the guy cannot play...it does mean, for whatever reason, Golson did not handle the pressure or expectations well, not the first nor the last time that has happened even to good QB prospects. That might mean he plays very differently in a place where there are no expectations...you know, like South Carolina.

At the end of the day, physically, Golson is the real deal. He's athletic, mobile, with an arm pretty close to as strong as Tajh Boyd's was, and can make plays with both his feet and his arm. That puts him miles ahead of the prospects at South Carolina. Connor Mitch is a big, strapping, farm-boy looking dude with an OK arm and a glacially slow release who showed the pocket awareness of a statue in South Carolina's Spring Game...I half-expected pigeons to come down and land on his shoulder at one point. SLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWW. Perry Orth is an undersized walk-on whose arm was more a dagger than a sword, threw a pretty little ball...up to a range of maybe seven yards. Scarwhoever was so nondescript I can't even remember his actual name, offhand. Golson's a rather different animal than that crew, would make South Carolina a rather different team...I mean, they're not going to be national title contenders or anything, but I think Golson could well make the difference between them winning 8-9 games or winning 4-5. Which is pretty durn significant.

And now I'm torn on what to think. Incredibly convincing argument.

He had 20 plus turnovers last year. He'd have The Ole Ball Coach throwing so many visors they'd need a border collie to keep track of all of them.

"need a border collie to keep track"...that's funny, there!***

My father was a relentlessly self-improving boulangerie owner from Belgium with low grade narcolepsy and a penchant for buggery. My mother was a fifteen year old French prostitute named Chloe with webbed feet. My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament.

You nailed it.

Maybe so, but

the things he struggles with the most are the parts of the offense that Mangus and Elliot brought in that led to their little blip of success.....the zone read. Golson is a mobile QB but he does far better when he has to improvise and extend plays instead of making a read and running the ball or on a designated keeper.
