You know what? It's not like Maryland's a better football school than any of those options.

I agree...none of those...my preferences would be in no particulare order... Penn State Vanderbilt West Virginia Navy
But, we need to get ND in the fold for football.

and there's a great chance they'll return to mediocracy now that he's gone. I just don't see UConn as being any kind of decent choice. To boot, they'd likely come in the Atlantic, giving us one more meaningless football game on our schedule.

Why must we insist on poaching from the Big East? It's
Nov 19, 2012, 2:28 PM
|

obvious that it's not going to strengthen the conference. Clemson and FSU need band together and present a dual package to another conference that is serious about football.

My top choice in order would be: WVU Penn St. USF UCF UL
I would not even consider Uconn or Cincy, they simply are not a option.

UofL best option by far...

and I would support them fully.
There have a very committed athletic department, are serious about football, one of the top all time basketball programs and a very good baseball program (in CWS a few yrs ago).
They would fit in nicely and would most importantly be a good football counterpart.

UConn class of 2016 average SAT score = 1225 Clemson class of 2016 Ave Sat score = 1245

Honestly, get ND to join as a full member or do nothing. Eliminate divisions and let the 2 top teams play in the ACCCG. Besides, for all sports other than football the ACC has 14 teams. The ACC doesn't necessarily need another football member.

I think Georgetown is a good fit geographically and academically as well, although neither school brings an extremely strong football program to the table. (at the moment)
Both bring elite basketball programs though...
