9-3 or 10-2, definite losses PSU and UNC, possibly also Miami.
8-4 if Chase Brice meshes with Duke.

I'm not sure what to make of Justin Fuente thus far.
He had a really good team for one year there at Memphis; that 2015 squad of his was really strong. One of my friends down in ATL coaches high school ball, one of his former players was up at Memphis and called him "fantastic". He was one of the hottest names in college football in 2015. He got up to VT, embraced the culture, retained Bud Foster...and instantly made them a contender. That 2016 VT squad gave us everything we wanted in the ACC Championship Game and would not go away...they showed all kinds of heart and belief.
It looked like VT were on their way. But they only finished a pretty-good 9-4 in 2017, and then collapsed to 6-7 in 2018, and of course, 8-5 last year. And somewhere along the way he seems have decided "player culture" was the problem and started running off guys left and right; the Hokies had eighteen guys - repeat, (18)! - in the transfer portal in 2019 and have another 14 in the portal for 2020. And of course, Bud Foster is now retired.
By way of comparison, Clemson had six players in the Portal for 2019 - the most Dabo has ever had, actually - and just four thus far in 2020...at least three of whom (Chase Brice, TJ Chase, and Xavier Kelly) have graduated and are immediately eligible.
So I dunno. On paper you look at all that returning production and think "better". But VT's been weird under Fuente too, and super-high turnover like that is a glaring red flag there's some major problems in that locker room, too. On paper they're likely to be the pick to win the Coastal...but if that locker room is really broken the Hokies won't play to their on-paper talent.
Be a fascinating thing to watch, for sure.

year that i think Camaraderie is a big X-factor when it comes to the state of VT's program. I remember watching the Furman game last year, because they were losing at home in the 2nd Half, and you see troubling signs. Also, VT lost to UVA last year for the first time in 15 years and saw the Hoos win the Division. VT fans and the BOT will start becoming very vocal if UVA begins to challenge their position as top program in the State.

We see similarly. I'm wondering if he squeezes too hard. Some coaches over-control and while that can generate results over the short term, over time they just burn their teams out and I'm wondering if that's what's going on with Fuente. He seems just uber-serious, won't even let his guys talk during team meals before games. They're supposed to just sit there and think great big weighty thoughts about what they're supposed to do in the game the next day.
Contrast that with the loose relaxed way Dabo's guys amble into stadiums like dudes strolling around the park at Disneyworld...it definitely doesn't seem like Fuente is fun to play for, whatever.
