Dawgs fans on Trevor Lawrence

Clemson fans say Trevor Lawrence is the top QB prospect this decade... UGASports.com - Rivals.com I say he is not the top QB prospect this year within a 20 mile radius of Cartersville.

That starting freshman QB that UGA has, he will be just like the one that usuc started named Jake, he will be left in the locker room at half time with coaches afraid he will be seriously injured if they send him back out with our defense smacking their lips looking around for him.

their team's new 5* QB recruit is better than our team's new 5* QB recruit? I'm shocked, I tell you.
Justin Fields is from Kennesaw, just down the road from Cartersville.

Seems someone has been lurking on the DV......Espn has JF as their #1. Not everyone is wearing orange colored glasses. Both are worthy of their status. TLaw might be your next Willie Korn.

Anyone who breaks Deshaun Watson’s records in Georgia is not some scrub or average Joe. The kid is a phenom.

ESPN and recruiting services mess up all the time but the film doesn’t lie.

You guys have a great athlete coming to Georgia but he is not in the same league as TL when it comes to passing. When the run has been taken away by an elite defense the question for Fields is can he beat a team with his arm when that happens. Watson could and Lawrence can. TLaw’s film is better than DW’s was. He is the best arm talent I have ever seen at the HS level period. And Korn? I could see after watching the Mohler? OH and Gaffney games that he was a product of the system and would be a bust. You have no idea what you’re talking about and ESPN is just stroking the SEC’s ego when they made JF #1 and I think that deep down inside you know it.

My wife and often remarked, he's so SMART! Bottom line, though, he was still a dog and no smarter than your average 2-year-old.
So there's my commentary on dawg fans giving their opinions on anything.

Dawgs went hard after TL... settled on Fields after his recruitment ended. Don't let them convince you otherwise

Trevor committed to CLEMSON and would not talk to any other schools. Because of that early commitment, His ranking was lowered. (Imo) They hate that CLEMSON recruits in Georgia. They hate that Dabo has been successful ; however , they do want us to beat Bama so it will be Georgia and Clemson in the NC. (They can't wait to put the smackdown on "Dabo and his little dabbies") Btw ... can you guys pray for my poor car.. I found two more freshly gouged places in the paint .

I live between Cartersville and Kennesaw . I have seen both of them play. Fields is a dynamic dual threat QB but he is not even close to being as a complete QB as Trevor. It doesn't take an expert to see both play, that Trevor is more mentally and physically gifted thaN Fields. Trevor only broke all of those GA high school records playing an average of 2 1/2 quarters per game. Dawg fans try to spin it around here that way only because Fields chose GA. If Trevor had chosen GA then they would spin it that way. It's an SEC mindset, " no matter what you have , ours is better" . They will learn soon enough in the playoffs that kind of thinking doesn't hold up when you get punched in the mouth.

Fields makes me scratch my head a bit.
You put the stopwatch on him and he's obviously fast. The dude is a no-kidding elite athlete, I'd say equal to Kelly Bryant and a bit better than Deshaun Watson, may even approach Jalen Hurts. He excels in 7-on-7's, obviously has arm talent, throws a very pretty ball. Absolutely kills it at the Underwear Olympics.
Problem is, none of that seems to translate in its entirety to the actual playing field. Fields is a bit like Sam Darnold in that. He seldom plays well for any extended period, mostly he just flashes. He shows wow-level potential seemingly every other play but you still see far, far too many bad giveaways, clumsy turnovers, weird decisions, freezes, and throwaway head-scratching "###" type plays where he just utterly wastes a down for seemingly no reason whatsoever. And the numbers and overall production just aren't there and you see long stretches of his offense doing absolutely nothing in particular which makes you narrow your eyes and wonder what the disconnect is.
So Fields oozes talent, yes...but again, he's far more potential than production and the whole there doesn't even come close to equaling the sum of its parts.
Whereas Trevor Lawrence...he stresses a defense from the first throw and just tears out chunks of pretty much whatever he wants, and there's no "system" in what he's doing, he's making no-kidding NFL-type throws out there on a bloody high school field. I honestly think he's maybe one of those truly rare birds you could draft into the NFL right out of high school.
