This for all who are interested in how protection leads to more time in the pocket, decision making, run gaps, higher completions and more wins. Here are your starters on the depth chart. Just a quick guide, you can google the rest. O-Line is something Texans can help address on Fri & Sat. Most Everything else is there now, including Watson. This is a good Team for Watson, and I can see Watson having success in Houston. So for what it's worth, here's a look at who has Watson's back that are starters.
LT- Duane Brown, 6'4, 320 lbs. College V.T, ACC honors Senior year LG - Xavier Su'a-Filo, 6ft.4, 305 lbs. College JC, UCLA C- Nick Martin, 6ft.4, 295 lbs. College BYU, ND, team captain RG - Jeff Allen, 6ft.4, 306 lbs. College U of IL -Urbana RT- Derek Newton, 6ft.4, 311 lbs. College JC, Ark. State, First team honors Sunbelt
No doubt they could get some better O-Line players, but I've seen some good plays by Brown a lot protecting the pass rush. Going against Clowney in practice doesn't hurt anything. Same goes for Newton and TJ Watt. There is a lot of pieces already there for a great season for Watson IMO. However, more depth and talent on the O-Line is never a bad thing.
