The bar's been raised and there's a new standard of performance. Meet that standard or GTFO. That reality is hitting some players apparently.

Can't be used to describe sc anymore since it clearly doesn't apply to Clemson.

sitting down the kid and being honest that you're not going to play because you're not good enough. It's just being honest. The kid can stay but let's just be honest with each other.

(looking at the depth chart)and allowing him to make his own decision is a far cry from pulling/not renewing scholarships.

Huge difference in trimming fat. I haven't heard a single one of the players who have decided to leave Clemson say that Dabo or any other of our coaches cut them from the squad. They have trimmed themselves. That is very different from some of the other programs. I am glad that some players who believe they won't get to play leave and open slots for other prospects, though I would be happier if they were good enough to make more of an impact at Clemson.

they were cut. trimming the fat would insinuate you were forced out. so like my original statement, i guess your argument for sc pulling schollies is out the window. AThomas you are a funny dude.....No reading disability, you may read it correctly if you take off your orange colored glasses. I think Townsend is a player, just don't think he fits your scheme. Y'all say he is overly aggressive but yet you claim to be an SEC-like team. Backers in the SEC are known to be overly aggressive and fast. So why does he not fit in.

when the local news caught him on the practice field and asked him about pulling(not renewing) scholarships. His answer was, "some of these guys just need to realize they're not div 1 football material". So S T U P, you're just ignorant.

are never going to reach your full potential in playing for us because of your skills relative to other player's skills. There is nothing wrong in changing priorities if you want to play elsewhere. Nothing at all."
I think Dabo is all about the person rather than the position. He is giving players a choice--not a swift boot. But that is JMHO.

...are you cheating on me? These kids are not going to say they were asked to leave or that they were told they may not see playing time. They were desirable athletes at one time and that just says "they were wrong...we aren't really good". What program would want them then?
