At the backstage press conference when the reporter asked specifically if the exchange between him and the coaches was legit(paraphrasing) he replied "I'd have to say yeah" But hey, he's blessed

LOL. Ole Miss is hosed.
What's interesting is that all that stuff came off Tunsil's hacked phone. That gas-mask bong was bad enough, but then whoever was hacking him turned around and posted captures of text messages between Tunsil and one of his Ole Miss coaches about paying money for his mom's electric bill.
That says it's more than a casual hack. It feels professional; somebody hacked his stuff and then picked absolutely the most ruinous moment - when all the cameras were pointed right at Tunsil - to drop these bombs. Combine that with the fact that all of a sudden Tunsil drops the bomb at his press conference that he was indeed receiving payment from coaches at Ole Miss, and I'm trying to think of a manner in which Ole Miss could possibly look worse.
This is the sort of things that gets massive scholarship reductions and multi-year bowl bans. It gets coaches and athletic directors fired. It also guts programs to their core.
Was it somebody with a personal beef against Tunsil? Or was it more calculated, and directed more at Ole Miss?
I would suspect the latter. You wonder if somebody from, say, Starkville or Tuscaloosa is ultimately responsible for that hack; the Rebs' Wild West recruiting tactics were turning heads pretty much everywhere, they reloaded flagrantly again this past year, and I wonder if somebody decided enough was enough and went for the cyber-smear.
Horrifying night for Ole Miss, whichever. It's about to get bad down there.
Which I personally find...pretty cool.

Well if it's who everything thinks it was, it was done by a dirtbag.
Tunsil beat the crap out of his stepfather a few weeks ago, allegedly because his stepfather had assaulted his mother. If true, then I think we can all agree that this beating was more than deserved.
However, the stepfather denies this, and is suing Tunsil. Early speculation is that his stepfather is the one who has been leaking all of this stuff.

What I have found over the years is that 80% of the time, the whistle blowers are rarely upstanding citizens themselves. Often it is the player them self who has squeezed all he can out of the school (like the former Bama player) And when they can get nothing else from the bagman, they come clean...

the barney in the story was a former coach with the tigers. he was the key to us getting mond Wilson Raymond white dexter mclean Charlie james. he stayed with the hatfield staff and followed him to rice.
