NCAA is only playing conference games this year. Do you know how statistics work?

Good on you for sticking up for your brothers at less than 50% with your 38%.
What statistics mean is that 1 team loses every week.
Being that 5 is roughly a third of the conference, that is a low number to be winning more than losing.
If there were more good teams, then the top half would be beating the bottom half more regularly and the number would look more like 7 or 8 teams above .500.
Unfortunately for you and your subpar brethren, having that many teams losing as much or more than they win means that most of the conference either inconsistent or just plain bad this season.
On a positive note for you, at least you don't have to play anyone outside of the conference this year to truly expose the weaknesses.
You can continue on with your theory that the SEC is so tough is causes both teams to get a loss since they are only playing conference games. That must be why all the records are so bad right?

ACC
7 Above .500, Wake at .500, and 7 Below .500. Two undefeated.
SEC
5 Above .500, 3 at .500 (LSU, Arky, And Mizzou), 6 Below .500. only 1 undefeated.
Sounds like the entire SEC is pulling a Coastal Division move. No one want to win as it would mean a match with Clemson....

Those are all good losses though for the SEC.

So does that mean two or three teams in the CFP?

You do know it’s mathematically impossible, with an equal amount of games in the conference, to be below .500.
SEC is overrated but this thread is silly. We have 7 teams over .500 with a 15 team conference. They have 5 with 14 teams, with 2 postponed games.

No, it isn't silly.
I predicted this when the SEC declined to schedule even 1 nonconference game.
The SEC voluntarily limited the number of teams eligible for bowl games, if they actually occur, even with lowered eligibility requirements.
If 5 wins is the Bowl eligibility requirement, the ACC will finish the season with 10-11 eligible teams. The SEC may have 8.

there is no minimum requirement for bowl wins this year
Oct 27, 2020, 9:32 AM
|

you could go 0-10 or 0-11 and the bowl could invite you(pending their conference/tie-in contracts)if they thin they could make $ from you coming. Heck, Army already accepted a bowl bid last week.

According to a story written by Tigernet, the requirement for a certain number of wins was removed, but the requirement of a .500 record was not.
If there is no requirement, I’d like to see where that was discussed. Info?

BTW, Army is already bowl-eligible by either standard, and they have a contractual obligation to the Independence Bowl.
So this is not a case of “no requirement this year”.
