RVing with my dad and late mom, wife and self met them at the campground, Mom cared naught for football, but loved the Tiger and the tailgating. Dad, Clemson College clas of 46, is still with us and doing well for 92. The teams weren't great, but getting together with our family and the Clemson family was. That never changes.

football. Spent that decade travelling and living in places far away. Didn't come to many Clemson games between 1991 and 2002, when I moved back to SC. I missed the Hatfield/West eras almost entirely.
Boy, did I time that right.

Rick Barnes, wha?
I remember the a Homecoming float shaped like and egg and it was supposed to open and show the queen..but the leaves(?) got stuck and it only partially opened. Kinda embarrassing. but luckily, no one was there, so it's basically like it didn't happen.

game where Louis Solomon, Rodney Blount, and Rudy Harris led us back from a 0-28 halftime deficit to win 29-28. Girls I traveled with had connections up there so I went from frathouse to frathouse (rush week and nobody knew what was going on) and got hammered and hooked up with coeds like a fiend.
Glad you found that orange wall pic, because one of my favorite 80's memories was sliding down that hill in the top left corner on pieces of cardboard when I was a kid, and I haven't been able to find a pic of it in a while.

Making the short drive over from the ATL on game day with no tix. Pulling up close to the stadium in general admissions parking. Waiting till close to game time and buying tix for less than face value.
Hanging with some of the original tnetters - ClempSon, TigerNotatGT, etc.

Sep 20, 2017, 10:25 AM

to scuff up the brim and curl it down pretty hard at the edges so it looks like you are looking out of a tunnel when you pull it down low on your forehead. then you have to get the hat filthy so it gets a kind of tan color.
then, you might have to bleach it or something so it gets all soft and beat up.
then you rock that thing.

Peach Bowl against Auburn is a game I vividly remember...we blocked THREE punts, one for a TD and one that landed at like that 1 yard line that we scored a TD on a play later...yet we still lost.
We had the immortal Nealon Greene guiding that terrible offense

Ahh....to be a student at the nadir of Clemson football
Sep 20, 2017, 11:17 AM
|
|
in the modern era.
My fondest memory was the UTEP game....1997 (had to look it up). Poorest attendance of any home Clemson football game EVAR. I recall laying down and taking a nap (sleeping off a hangover no doubt) during the game. We moved to the 50 yardline and still could lay out on the bleachers. You could hear the announcer's voice echo across the stadium. We had more people at our spring game this year.
Announced attendance was 59,000. Yep, and that's the announced attendance. Was probably less than that by 10K.

and everybody got a fan on the way into the stadium and somebody that day was actually the 1 millionth fan to enter DV for a game. it was not me, so i do not know the handsome reward.
side note: we rode into town in the back of a station wagon facing out the back and the window down. we would make duct tape balls and toss them out to see how far they would bounce.
other side note: i think it was this game that i pizzed next to frank howard

line of scrimmage between plays?
We were boozing it up in the student section and they were like 'we're going on the field' and everybody was like whatev man.
A few minutes later they hopped the wall and sprinted across the field, both teams watching them like ###. One guy got caught right away on the GT sideline, the other managed to hop into the north stands, take off his shirt and sat down. He lasted a few minutes before somebody ratted him out.
