Former Clemson golfer suffers injury

by - Assoc. Editor -

PGA professional Lucas Glover was on the 18th hole during his third round at the Northern Trust when his right foot slipped during a shot and suffered an injury.

Gloved laid on the ground for a few moments and eventually finished up with a bogey on the hole and had a noticeable limp heading to the clubhouse.

"I was just trying to hit a hard five iron and right foot just slipped right under me," Glover told a reporter after his round. "It was kinda warm grass up there on the side of that slope and (knee) just gave out and I think I hyper extended it."

He was diagnosed with a strained patella tendon by the medical staff but actually, plans to play on Sunday after icing his knee.
