Wow! 13 quailty recruits red shirted this year ... In 2009

our entire class was only 12 players.
At the risk of "wait 'til next year", this has huge implications down the road.

it is certainly good news. Clemson is growing its talent base--both skill set starters and quality depth--the right way...NOT by cancelling scholarships in a manner likely known as the "Spurrier Method". I wonder if usuck has a day like they do in pros when an assistant coach comes by a player's locker, tells him the head coach wants to see him and to bring his playbook and everybody in the room knows that player is being released. I guess the SEC/usuck equivalent is the loss of a scholarship.
I've been saying since that fateful signing day after Bowden left and Coach Swinney's first class was but a dozen that it would affect Clemson football for years into the future--and, IMO, it did. Ya can't say enough about those kids that stuck by their commitment and the unprecedented success Clemson has enjoyed these last few years (save losses to the chickens)
Its good to know there likely won't be a drop off anytime soon.
(BTW--Go DW!)

But your 2009 class produced 9 starters, including the greatest quarterback in your history.
Our 2009 produced 12 starters, 4 of them being JUCOs.
Hardly the reason we took over the series.

With a larger class, we may have ended up with better/different starters.
I love those guys, but the incoming talent is better than those 9 as a whole. We have upgraded.

At least I wouldn't be because we've had recruiting classes since then and those classes have produced starters. Is Shaw your greatest QB ever? Definitely the best one I can think of for you guys, but I really expected you guys to get better QB talent with Spurrier there. He rotated quality QB's in Gainsville.

Your 2009 class had 29 signees. Where did they all go?

As I recall, SCAR signed approximately +/- 25 more players than Clemson between 2009 and 2013 ... you can check for specific numbers but that's pretty close.
Where DID they all go?
Practically every year SCAR signed more than Clemson and yet the following year, had room to sign another big class.
Where did all the players go?

Until I see another QB in the system. We will have put a ton of skill position players in the NFL during Boyd's time here too.

Was not the quality and quantity we have now. Add the recruits that flipped once we fired a coach that owned coots do we could get back to the top of the acc and eclipse 10 wins.

You're also talking about starters while the original poster was talking about depth. Two very different things. Keep up here.

You did catch the fact that South Carolina is going to end up in the top five, with the youngest team in the Nation this year.

I grew up in a USCjr house, my dad always had season tickets and took me to the games. My mom and sister still pull for the chicken. Me on the other hand was the smart one, I have always been a tiger. One of my greatest memories was watching the 81 Orange Bowl with my dad. He hated us winning it all. I loved it. I went to Clemson in the late 80's, he told me hr would take me to the city limits and let Mr out. He hated Clemson and I absolutly hate USCjr. He passed in 08 and never got to see your recent sucsess against us. Enjoy it while you can, you will always be our bedwetting little brother.65-42-5, USCjr, established 2009, Go Tigers!
