Why is the Clemson field so small?

I see in pictures that the fences look to be at 200'. (I couldn't find a plan view). I know that the fences at my daughters HS field are at 227' because I made the signage for them. The speed of the pitching will help the ball travel further at the college level, but the contact is much tougher. There weren't a lot of HR's hit in her 4 years; maybe 5 or 6 each year, but just made me wonder if most college fields were like McWhorter Field.

Still doesn't answer the question of why so small? Maybe some of the small minded folks on here have an answer.

The exact NCAA requirement is for a minimum left and right field distance of 190 feet and a maximum of 225; and a minimum center field distance of 200 and a maximum of 225.

Sure seems like it ought to be the other way around. When I worked at the Rec Center in HS, the 9-10 year olds played on a 200' field for baseball.

Just measured it on Google earth (if you trust it which I do).
Distance to midfield ia 230 feet.
Distance to fences at the foul lines are about 167 feet.
The field is square.
