I assume I’m speaking to the older donor class of Clemson alumni when I post here. This year if entering the student lottery, you can only max out at 4 tickets. This doesn’t make sense. The capacity of the stadium is 80k+, we as students should all be afforded the ability to buy 10$ tickets for the football game. Have you looked at what we pay in tuition? It feels like the AD is too young or dumb and he falls to basic corporate traps left and right. Why hire more security, we don’t get in fights? Why limit the hill, it hasn’t been packed? Why use Ticketmaster? I’ve only been introduced to more barriers and bs the longer I’ve been here, I’m a legacy my dad didn’t experience this. Maybe some more seats should be allocated to the student body and prices should be raised in the other sections, either way it’s uncool.

Unfortunatly you are right. I hate to see it. As much as I have enjoyed the winning seasons. The more I also hate college football because it has become even more corporate than it used to be. Thats why I like College Soccer and Baseball. Corporate has yet to sink its dirty little hands so deep into both those sports. Its there but not nearly as much.

I have to say with all these new additions to the stadium like the lights and music always blaring instead of a Marching Band and all these fancy pants seating. In my view if you can handle seating your fat butt on bleachers for 2 to 3 hours then stay the heck away from a football field. because those are the same that will not cheer loud when team needs them too. College Students make the game

As a senior who is normal four year, never failed a class, payed iptay upfront to maximize points, and attended every game. You can only get 4 games. And if you want to buy season tickets (200-300$) you only get upper deck or lower, no hill option. So I bet hill has lowest attendance this year if it once again isn’t GA.
Like a great stadium renovation would be building a massive hill, just make it way bigger and sell it super cheap.
A investment for the people, on a body of land with no legal constituents. A dichotomy you would actually expect at a college, not just rampant boomer corruption.
Ultimately if the way I see it is correct, the effect will mean boomers will only be able to afford go to 4 home games if you make normal money and you’ll have to pay a lot more to make those the good games. That’s fair, and if you say, “well the world ain’t fair kiddo”, I’d wager you’re overweight.

I’m aware how the student season ticket lottery works and the options available for it. That’s what I did and was lucky enough to get lower deck each season. Only exception was the 2020 season since student season tickets were suspended.
So what exactly is being capped at 4 games? Single game lottery or day off/before tickets?

The one disagreement I have with your argument is assuming tuition has anything to do with the athletics.

I don’t even wanna step into the territory of how the university manages funds, all I’d say is the one factor that correlates across most students as a reason for attending is the football team. The athletes are students too!

Not sure, most homies do booze in together, but I think they got ticket independently. No clue tho, definitely not assigned seats together, only athletes next to the hill seem assigned.

people with money thinking they can purchase happiness with said money.
It should be STUDENT ATHLETES representing the UNIVERSITY, PRIMARILY supported by their FELLOW STUDENTS.
Us alumni should be supporting this COLLEGE ACTIVITY (if we want to) not perverting it by injecting some ROI considerations into it.
People throwing around lots of money have grotesque expectations that their money entitles them to have everyone else get out the way of their way.
Unfortunately, the NFL, (or other professional sports) which is perfectly suited to quench their thirst to buy wins with their cash, isn't enough for them. They swallow college and high school athletics too.
You should be able to go to every game. Tickets NOT claimed by students should go back to Iptay to be sold.

people with money also donate just to get there name out there like to put it on a building like the baseball stadium instead of keeping it Tiger Field. The only time fields should be renamed is if it is for an Athlete, Coach or monument to fallen soldiers or veterans.

23,000 enrollment
Let's say 15,000 want tickets at $10 each. That's $150,000 in revenue per home game.
Sell those same 15,000 tickets at $60 each. That's $900,ooo in revenue per home game....so $750,000 more per game.
Now let's multiply that by 7 home games. That's a difference of $5,250,000 per year, so x 4 years it's another $21,000,000 in revenue while you are there.
Charging students/limiting tickets isn't slowing down demand to attend CU and it won't effect attendance at games.
This strategy is only a microcosm for what's happened at Clemson over the past 25 yrs. But hey, at least you don't have to live in Johnstone right? Having a Starbucks and being able to get sushi on campus ain't going to happen for free ya know?

You are so greedy. I lived in the shoeboxes, I would’ve lived in Johnstone, my dad did. College ain’t about money this is a land grant university not SMU. I’m a ME, minors - Econ and math. How about the math of me and our current class not giving Billions back to the University when we are rich cause we didn’t have the ability to enjoy the campus without fat, rich, and dumb boomers pestering and looking weird. EVERY sporting event you wanted to attend as a student were a given, even though you did have to line up in a queue for football tickets. But, that just limited WHERE you sat, not if you got a ticket or not.

Ctigs, as you grow and complete your studies, you will understand that big school college football is about money, period. My guess, the AD has nothing to do with how many tickets students are allowed to get but you should check with the Student Life folks.
