Why are we the underdog Saturday?

Serious question -
Why are we the underdog to FSU Saturday? We've both undefeated - we're ranked 3rd and them 5th - this is a home game for us.
I don't get it.

Clemson seems to get ZERO respect when we doing anything great, but get tons of criticism when something goes wrong, ill stand for Clemson and the rest of the Clemson faithful over anybody in this entire country! We dont need there respect, we just gotta prove em wrong! Go Tigers!

General public will be betting on FSU because of that.

Nothing to get......it is based on the fact that more people are betting on FSU than Clemson. The more that bet on FSU the more they will be favored.

Because the betting public favors FSU,

There will be more bets place on FSU than on Clemson.
Hype goes along way in determining betting trends. The public just witnessed FSU destroy Maryland and Clemson struggle against BC.
The line has no bearing whatsoever on the outcome of the game. Nothing to worry about. If anything it helps Clemson by putting a chip on their shoulder.

they are just trying to set the line so as to increase the likelihood of getting even money form both sides.
Right now, the betting public favors FSU so Vegas gives Clemson a few points in an attempt to even-out the betting.

FSU's last game 63-0 beatdown of Maryland (ranked team at the time)
Clemson's last game a scare vs a bad BC team that was beat comfortably by Lane kiffin
it's the last game that people remember..........and like it or not now that FSU is supposedly "back" their name still carries weight leftover from the 90s

they did us a favor......pure moto for us in the locker room

i'm sure the coaches are pointing that out.....in this day and age so many players know each other and there is not near as much dislike between teams as it used to be. As much as us fans don't want to admit it, it's true. So many of these kids know each other from media days, camps, etc.. I'm NOT saying they don't want to win but there isn't as much fire as it used to be unless you happen to have some of those personalities in the locker room. I'm glad we're not respected, i'm glad we're the underdog. If i was Dabo or any coach on the staff, i'd be pissing them off every minute by getting in their heads about wanting to take FSU's head off and being disrespected nationally. It would be pasted on every locker in the locker room in orange highlighter and by game time they'd be so sick of hearing it they'd be ready to have some FSU helmets rolling around on DV's turf.

NC State and BC. Play like we did in those two games, and we're dead meat.

We under-performed in those games. FSU did with BC

too. But that's why FSU gets the edge. Plus, they're FSU, a ten-year+ media darling. I actually prefer being the underdog so I really think it's a gift.

simple reason...
We haven't held anyone scoreless. It strikes a chord with voters when they see an IN CONFERENCE game where there is a 0 on one side of the scoreboard. Holding a team scoreless is hard. Ever played football and tried it? We pull starters when the game in at hand. Which, by the way, is the smart thing to do.
