year after 11 games. Duke, Maryland, NCSU.
Last year we were 9-2 before the SUC game.
While I think we are very improved, our record isn't any better than last year - YET.

Bowl win would not counter a 4th loss to SCAR ... no way.

IMHO, if we lose again to SCAR this year, it will overshadow pretty much anything else we accomplish over the season, including any bowl win.
There are many who disagree with this sentiment right now, but (if it happens) just watch this board in the immediate aftermath of losing to SCAR again.
For so many reasons ... losing to SCAR this year is just not an option.

Our passing game is better, but our running game is worse. (and please spare me the rushing stats that were padded against Ball state etc)
Our schedule has been amazingly weak so far. Auburn turned out to be imploding (as I predicted) and Virginia Tech is horrible this year, along with Georgia Tech. Our only real challenge so far in the year has been Florida State.
So, our record is pretty good, sure. Has the team improved? I don't see it.

Against FSU we passed for almost 300 yards and ran for 136

against that vaunted defense.
Not to mention we are the only team to score over 20 on them. Miami scored exactly 20.
If you think our schedule has been weak go look at Miss St., Ole Miss, etc.

Nuke is a monster this year, Boyd's decision making is so much better, there has only been one game where we have scored under 30

Right now we are at the exact spot where the wheels came off last year. We will only be different if that doesn't happen this year. Since we have not played a very tough schedule, beating USC is even more important to see where we stand.
