For not hitting a coot in my foursome over the head with my driver today. We all had time to talk a little football at the turn, and when asked how I thought Clemson would do this year, I said I thought we would be back in the playoffs. The coot laughed and said Clemson is "not even the best team in the state, and I expect them to have two or three losses when they play South Carolina this year". Thank God he was in the other cart, or I might've taken off hard left when I was next to a water hazard

True, but had they taken him out in Q4 that fumble might not have mattered...

Also was t hin calling passing plays when you are running the ball for 7+ yards a carry with a two TD lead.

And in all seriousness, my 10-year-old could have called a better fourth quarter against them last year

Or an OC that thought he was our best option at QB.

A golf buddy of mine asked a coot fan in our group how the capons would do this year. He said, “the only team that we might have trouble with this year is Georgia.” The other guy asked him about Tennessee and he said that they would manhandle the Vols since they manhandled them last year. I asked him about Clemson. He figures they started on a new winning streak last year. They are the most delusional fan base in the US. When they handed out rivals Clemson absolutely struck gold.

You have the rest of the season to laugh at him, this is their only shot to act like they can even have a conversation on the same level with the best in all the land over the last decade!

Interesting. I was expecting you to say ‘for hitting a coot today’. There’s always tomorrow

Your temperance prevailed. That’s admirable.

Did the guy bend at the waist and pick up his ball with his mouth? I’ve seen other chickens do this, but I’ve never seen them in action on the golf course.

I’ve found the best way to deal with their ignorance and arrogance is to let them talk their self into dreamland and then not even rub it in when Clemson beats them soundly. Trust me it works. I have probably 10 Carolina friends and I don’t even talk football anymore to them. They know I don’t trash talk and they don’t bother with me. They really don’t have anything to discuss most of the time.

Why would you expect a coot to say something different? He was just doing and saying what you would expect him to do.
When a dog chases a car, you aren't surprised and don't get mad at the dog, do you? When a coot says something stupid, why should you be surprised and angry?
