yes, Vernon is Will Wade's top assistant. If you watch the full presser from Will Wade about NCAAT bid he said Vernon watches all the Clemson Basketball games.

If Will Wade takes a bigger job, Vernon is probably going to be the next HC at McNeese. Actually was the interim HC coach when Wade started there because Wade was going through his suspension from NCAA . see link. It would be great he did a great job as HC and after Coach Brownell decides to retire he could be the future guy at Clemson. Link:
