Yeah, I’m the type that goes and little insane when things don’t make sense. This doesn’t make sense. Can somebody rationally explain this, so I might regain some of my sanity?

Because they weren’t on each others conference schedule, had an opening and agreed to play each other.

Teams go many years without playing each other. Virginia and Nc State have barely played each other in the last 20 years cause they were in different divisions. Kinda like how we almost never play the Virginia schools either

IIRC they both had an opening in their non conference schedule and agreed to play each other instead of another D1AA or Go5 team.

You can’t then make it a conference game and throw off the standings

They wanted to play one another. Apparently the border rivalry is that important to them. The ACC allows it. They have allowed UNC and Wake to do that before too.

No one in the ACC I care to waste a non con home and home on other than GT when we aren't scheduled to play. That's a good rivalry. That should have been set as a protected game for us like FSU.

So stupid. The information gained by conference teams playing against each other should be used to make decisions about conference rankings, championships, etc. EVERY. TIME.
