Course setup looks brutal. Can’t imagine too many golfers finish under par. Who ya got winning and what’s their final score ?
I’m going Schauffele -2

Scottie Schefler - Mr automatic from tee to green. -5
Obviously pulling for our two Tigers. Honestly, if they just make cut, I'd be proud.

Hard not to pick Scottie. I think -5 is pretty generous. but I'll agree with that.
If they don't mow that rough again we'll be in store for 7 hour rounds.

Tough conditions will def favor the accurate ball strikers and longer ones too..

Schefller is hard to bet against, but let's go off the beaten trail a bit.
Going
Ludvig Aberg
or
Sepp Straka
Agree on the Tigers too. Hopefully they make the cut.
Go Tigers!

Last time(@ Oakmont) the course superintendent was quoted. He said “we don’t set the course up to embarrass great golfers, we set it up to identify them”. Seems pretty accurate.

Not a big fan of the deep rough. I like watching more birdies than bogies.

Yes and no…I do like to see accuracy and control rewarded. Maybe don’t swing out of your shoes and play smartly…I’d take short and in the fairway over long and in that rough for sure.

I haven't looked in on it yet, but understand they were hand mowing the roughs so the tractor tires would not press down the rough grass. They are mowing it at 5", so it is going to be tough advancing the ball with much more than a wedge. I had always assumed the roughs are all Bluegrass, but have since read that they are Fescue, guessing Tall Fescue rather than Fine Fescie. I was surprised to find out the the greens were Poa Annua. I have played there before and would have never thought they could get Poa greens that fast. I think a couple strokes under par or even around par will win the tournament.

It's amazing they can. Hard to imagine but Rory said they had them running at 15 1/2 and the pins were on tricky slopes. I like it as long as they don't trick it up. And I don't think they will.

you have to take one player from the current top 16, then two from the field.
Total purse.
Team 1 Scheffler Reed Spieth
Team 2 Bryson - had to go brute strength Keegan Rose
Go Tigers!
