Trash the ACC

Everyone wants to trash the ACC
In order of NFL talent:
SEC (367) BIG (288)
****ACC (213)****
Big 12 (207) PAC 12 (178) Mountain West (61) American (51) Sun Belt (45) Independent (42) MAC (27) C-USA (24)
Stop acting like the ACC is trash. Clearly we have MORE NFL talent than every conference but 2. There's simply not a bad conference at the Power 5 level. The conferences may have a couple bad teams in them but overall the talent is there.

Here’s the rundown of how many college football championships the top 5 conferences have won since the AP Poll era began and when each of these conferences was founded.
SEC (est. 1932): 30 championships Big Ten (est. 1896): 25 championships ACC (est. 1953): 15 championships Big 12 (est. 1994): 12 championships FBS Independent (est. 1978): 12 championships Pac-12 (est. 1915): 10 championships
There are really only three power conferences in modern cfb. The ACC finishes third (last) in the three.

If you by years in the business the Acc really isn’t that far behind the other two. I think it was Miami that had OS beat, until a zebra from across the field threw a flag in overtime. Also, most of the titles were voted on and not won on the field like today.

True. It is not a scientific comparison comparing conferences and teams based on past history. But, in most any comparison of FB to the SEC and BIG, the ACC is going to be last.

Uhhh you might want to check that Big12 with 12 championships since being established in 1994. Surely you mean the teams currently in the Big12 have 12 championships throughout whatever conferences they have been in over the last 8 decades or so.

We are basically on par with the second-rate leagues Pac and B12. The rest of those conferences are utterly irrelevant to everything. Not to mention we get a pittance financially compared to the Big and SEC

I like the ACC and hope we stay. I would prefer to go back to 8 teams, but that would obviously never happen.
The only issue I have is the low TV revenue.

This is my issue as well. ESPN should do better sharing the revenue with the ACC but that was the deal that our stupid commissioner worked out with them. It's really on one guy as to why the revenue sharing isn't up to par with the BIG and SEC I'm sure that there's great ratings on ACC games as well.

Hey dizzle, do you really think a commissioner has the power to make a deal with the approval of the schools? The answer is a big fat no.

Valley Boy
I do think the commissioner makes the deals with the networks. Hence the bad deal that the entire ACC has gotten.

So do we love the ACC? Hate the ACC? Are we desperate to leave the ACC? Are we determined to stay put in the ACC?

Just out of curiosity, who defines "NFL talent"?

So we’re 3rd in NFL and a whole 6 players ahead of the Big 12 which had 4 fewer teams than the ACC for several years prior to this one, and we’re also ahead of the PAC which has 2 fewer teams than the ACC. Yay for the ACC!
