I saw in another thread that some folks were questioning why offer a guy from a Div 2 school?
there are no guarantees, but that is why universities, including Clemson, have a staff of people dedicated to evaluating kids from smaller schools.
Jared Verse was at a Div 2 school, Albany NY.
Kyle Morlock is from - you guessed it - Shorter. When he was recruited he was projected to be 4th or 5th on the TE depth chart for FSU. He moved up to #2 before the first game of the season and, assuming Bell leaves, will go into Spring as the clear #1.
There are a select few quality athletes at Div 2 schools.
Dabo wouldn't be recruiting this kid if he thought he was a 2 year project.

Yea that was my thoughts on some. Are they the equivalent to the players you would get from Junior College.

Remember MI center Olusegun Oluwatimi … currently NFL center for Seattle Seahawks.
He originally was a low rated recruit who went to Air Force Academy.
Then, he transferred to UVA.
Then, he was rented by MI for a year.
Air Force Academy has a higher rated FB program than Shorter, but AF is no FSU or Clemson. Jared Verse types … gems from smaller colleges … are more common than many fans realize.

Take a look at the nfl rosters and the numbers of guys on these rosters from very small schools may surprise you…the NFL obviously sees the talent , imo I believe recruiting services have gotten lazy and some coaches trust them instead of their eyes a little too much …
