Just win one tournament game and we will Be a 3 seed!
We’d go into the ncaa rested too!
Of course, I’d rather win the ACC tournament just one time, so we are due a miracle!

Have to win the ACCT, to have any chance at 3. 4 is probably it. No lower than 5.

HumbleServant answer this for me please sir. What would you rather happen if you could only have one or the other but not both. Win the ACC but lose in the NCAA tournament or lose the ACC tournament and win the NCAA tournament. That is easy for me, I would rather win the NCAA tournament bc I think that the NCAA championship is more prestigious than the ACC champion would be...

For sure. NCAA Tournament success is way more important ACC Tournament success.***

That's the side of the ball that I'm hoping for Judge. Honestly though, nothing would be better than winning the ACCCG plus win the NCAA National Championship. That IMO would come pretty close to making up for our Tigers never being a very strong basketball school throughout our school history!!!

There has been a lot of times that more than a day's rest for teams in a playoff like situation hurts them more than it helps bc it seems like to mush rest time can take a team out of their game ready grove. Or it has seemed that way to me, has any of you ever felt that way, or saw it to be that way?

I think we're a 2 seed if we win the championship, 3 seed if we make it to the championship, maybe a 4 seed with one win, and a 5 seed if we lose the first round.

If the AP rankings are any indication, we should be a 3 seed right now. With four teams per seed, a 3 seed is #’s 9-12. I don’t get it. Why ranks us in the top 10 if you’re going to seed us outside the top 10? It’s stupid. A 4 seed would be tolerable, but a 5 seed would be insulting! But, no matter, we just need to keep winning the next one in the NCAA tournament. It would be nice to win the ACC tournament, but that doesn’t hold a candle to winning the NCAA tournament!

I was about to say - this isn’t 1985 any more.
To most folks these days a Sweet Sixteen is worth more than a ACCT trophy.
Back when it was still held in Greensboro, the ACCT was a #### big deal- but even then, I can remember James Worthy holding the nets he had just cut down and saying what he really wanted was the nets from the final four (which he went on to later win too).
Also, as to the ACCT having an impact on the seeding, after the second day I don’t think it matters a bit other than for the bubble teams. The selection committee typically has the first four lines locked in stone after Saturday regardless.

I believe that you may be thinking of Jimmy Black, the senior leader of the team. I don't believe that he even took the ACC Championship net. Worthy was the star (junior), Jordan was the up and coming freshman, but it was no questioning that Black was the team leader.

You are correct about all of that of course, but it was definitely Worthy I quoted-ish. He had them around his neck in the interview - but point stands - those wanted the nets in New Orleans. And they got them. Daugherty was the other in that starting five and he was a bad ### too.
