Clemson has the 2nd-smallest class in the top 50, with 13 players currently committed. FSU is the only top-50 program with fewer commits. We've lost about a dozen guys to the portal in each of the last few years, so a class of 13 would only be enough to replace them. We also have to replace the players who leave for the NFL or run out of eligibility.

Yeah, our strategy is a bit of a head scratcher considering the portal is not a serious option and scholarships are bumping to 105.

On a positive note, the guys we do have committed are rated highly. Clemson is ranked #5 for average recruit rating.

So scholarships increase to 105, but roster size is now limited?

Is that the case for next year?

I doubt we have any underclassman leave early for NFL, at least I'm not seeing them on the roster.

I could be wrong, but I think if we can't pick up a few more big recruits through the highschool ranks Dabo may feel he has no other choice but to use the portal some to fill a few holes. Not saying he will pull a FSU or Colorado, but maybe 3 or 4 dudes.

Not sure how that will work considering he’s not going to pay them to come here. Same problem with recruiting HS kids - tough to convince them to come under those circumstances.
