Student Tickets

Nov 28, 2010, 3:33 PM

Does anyone know how this new ticket distribution works for students trying to go to basketball games?

I've been wondering the same thing....there hasn't been any emails about it, so as far as I know they haven't changed the system yet...then again maybe they decided on a new system but just haven't told anyone yet...wouldn't surprise me

I've been waiting for that e-mail but until then I guess its like usual. How early do you think students will need to show up to get a seat?

From what I've heard, if your id gets selected for the lottery, it only guarantees you a ticket to the game. It will then be like normal lining up for the game, but the only ppl. lining up will be people that had their id chosen.

So you will probably have to camp like normal for the floor seats.

Yeah they're trying to implement a lottery system mainly for big games. How it would work is this, the more games you go to, the more points you receive. They tally this by the fact that they swipe your id before you receive a seat. So if you are a senior, and have been to more games, you're more likely to be picked in the lottery if need be. Its trying to weed out people who don't really go to games except big ones, and bring in the ones who really want to be there. Students who didn't make the lottery can still line up for the extra tickets that people did not show up for.

I know that many other schools run lottery systems for basketball tickets, I think clemson is one of the few that don't. When you know if you have a seat or not, then you can still camp out etc. to get a floor seat, that part of it would be the same. I could be wrong on this, but this is how I would expect it to work for the most part, hopefully this helps, and hopefully clemson lets us students know!

Yes that makes sense, but I haven't heard a thing about the lottery so I'm assuming its like normal
