Stark Raving Brad - November 29

Opponent: Alabama.
Narratives. Everybody has one, it seems. Least surprising of which would be that abidingly over-zealous troll, Judge Keller.
Indeed, it’s sad really, to see a supposedly adult person unravel in real time. So, instead of celebrating the BBall team’s weighty win over a Top 25 opponent on their own home court, the final whistle had hardly blown when there was Jester Keller trying his hardest to take a back-handed TNET swipe at the Football Program – and Dabo Swinney in specific. Something about “glad to see one program at Clemson utilizing the Portal.... maybe Dabo forgot the password.” Yada, yada. You see, this is where the "stark raving" part comes in.
But this is merely habit at this point, and if you go back to last Saturday, not one hour after the Clemson Football Team’s latest win over South Carolina, he’s on TigerNet with a post that’s Bold Print entitled, “Our Program has issues....”
Really?
Clearly, it’s not difficult to develop a case otherwise, and most Clemson fans get it without prompting. As example, we see that in Dabo Swinney’s last three years, he’s gone 29-10 (74%). Further, in those 3 years, Swinney has the same number of Conference Championships as in all of South Carolina’s 116 football seasons - 1. That’s also actually 1 more even than North Carolina and NC State have over their last 85 football seasons, combined.
But what’s really key for Clemson fans is that in the 17 years prior Swinney, Clemson’s own BEST 3-year period showed a record of 24-10 (71%, Ken Hatfield). Notably, there was again only 1 ACC Championship during this time.
Worse; historically knowledgeable Clemson fans will no doubt take umbrage at the Swinney-Hatfield comparison, as Hatfield came on board in the wake of Danny Ford’s departure having left ol’ Ken a roster fully stocked of NFL talent. Hatfield’s record seems dubious then, and the fact that Hatfield would be gone within a year of his 3-year anniversary is telling.
Tommy West’s best 3-year record was 22-14 (61%), with no Championships. Similarly, Tommy Bowden’s best 3-year record was a paltry 25-13 (66%), with again, no ACC Championships.
Indeed, no matter how you slice and dice it, Dabo Swinney’s most recent three years, this highly-publicized “down” period after the 6 straight CFP’s, is still better in record than the any of the three Clemson Head Coaches prior. Pointedly, again in these 3 years, Swinney is also 1 Conference Championship to the good on not only UofSuC, UNCheat, and DaveDoerenU, but also to the good of his predecessor Clemson Coaches, save Ford’s gift to Ken Hatfield.
Whatever Swinney is doing then, it’s simply undeniably better than what Clemson ever had before.
Yes, Swinney has clearly upgraded the Clemson Football Program from its past. You might guess that like comparisons for other Clemson Coaches don’t go so well. You'd be well right.
For all his plaintive politicking then, Judge Keller might as well be the proverbial legless Snake, cajoling, “Hey Eve, I see some Issues with your Garden....”
Really?
Welcome to Stark Raving Brad....

On T-Net...at least pay for the privilege. At day's end, your raving isn't any different than his trolling, though. Enough already.

That thread about dabo needing brads password was started by caspera not JK.

Unfortunately, the fringe fans can't find it in their heart to simply enjoy the season. They decided long ago that despite the history and obstacles associated with our program, Brad was terrible and had to go. Now they simply don't have the humility to admit they were wrong.

I’ve been labeled part of the “lunatic fringe” on here simply because I don’t have the same level of optimism regarding our bball team as I do with our football team. I don’t have any issues with Coach Brownell. I support all of the Clemson coaches and understand it is not my job to decide who should coach any sport at Clemson and who should not. My caution regarding becoming too optimistic about Clemson basketball comes from history and started way before any of us knew who Brad Brownell was (except maybe JK). We have a very long history of playing teams way below our league in November and December, so we start out looking like a great team. Then we move into conference play and don’t do as well. This has been the MO for most of my 60 years and I have learned to temper my optimism until we see how we fare once we get into conference play. I will always support the Tigers and hope we win them all. I really wish we would play more opponents like Alabama in the early part of the season. I think that would help us prepare for conference play and give a better feel for how good we really are or aren’t. The game last night gives us reason to have a lot of hope for this year. I have just become cautious over the years based on our historical results. Hope I’m still this optimistic in late February.

isn’t something I “agreed to”. We have 13 years of proof showing Brownell can’t coach already.
And unlike JK with the Football team, I can say “good win”, mean it, and sincerely hope they continue on. Even if they were to make the Sweet 16, it’s past time for him to go.

Lmao. And you celebrate our win by complaining about JK in one of your psychotic rants? Do you realize it wasn't JK who posted that, or are you too old and senile?

No; in fact, he simply gave it a TU within minutes of it showing up. I fail to see the difference.
And yes, for all of your continued disparagement, I was spot on with my words.
You simply can’t read, pumpkin.

You typed what is below. Still laughing at you got so triggered by JK virtually thumbs upping a post that it prompted you to go on one of your insane rants. JK lives rent free in your head. Sad.

You're the moron, Mountaineer; the typical keyboard jockey who failed his SAT in High School because he can't really read.
Take a hike.
There's no conversing with anyone who can't be on point for longer than a YouTube commercial.

You get tossed off your own boards, probably half a dozen other Big 12 boards as well, and come running over here because we're nice enough to put up with your Cow Pattie logic.
Whatever. Be well, but be gone. Oh, and nice CFP dude....
