I live in South Carolina, and where have these guys been? They have to have a VERY low fan base...I never seen a sc state fan.. are they considered one of our in state rivals? I would like to play these guys..Instead of ball state why not sc state? That would be a good tradition to start. What say you? o yea these this team in South Carolina, that calls them selfs USC ahahahhahaha

We played them in 2009 and their band was excellent. Fans were pretty good for an FCS fanbase. I know a lot of guys who go to/root for/support State.

If we don't hurry up and join the Big12 we may be in the same conference as SC State so not to worry.

their football team doesnt exist. People go to their games to watch the band. There was one SCST fan that sat near me at that game and he was proud as could be of that band, didnt care much for the football game going on.
In all seriousness, their band is probably one of the better ones in the state, if not the country, They were certianly much louder than Clemsons band, atleast i thought so. they reminded me a lot of the movie "drumline"

I sat near their band and they would never shut up the entire game. There's plays going on and they're still over there banging their drums away and singing. I was like, come on!

their band is probably the reason they sell most of their tickets.
Im not saying it wasnt annoying, and as a Clemson fan, it was something i enjoyed seeing once, but now that ive seen it, I'll be ok if I never see it again

That nonstop playing was just too much, esp considering they were getting murdered.

SC State is a very good FCS program

They've been one of the better HBCU programs for 3-4 decades now. Willie Jeffries put them on the map and actually became the first black D 1-A head coach at Wichita State.
SC State is near the top of FCS attendance each year. Last year they averaged more fans per game than The Citadel, Wofford, Coastal, and Furman did. They ranked #14 overall in national FCS attendance. The stadium is pretty nice and they get great support.
If you are in the Columbia area you will know plenty of SC State fans. In the upstate you aren't likely to see many though.
Buddy Pugh is also a great guy.

I've heard nothing but good things about Coach Pugh, sounds like a great role model and coach.
