SOo...who's going 1st in NFL draft...Sammy or Clowney?

It's going to be a close pick, could go either way since high powered DE's are a much needed commodity..But so are great WR's. I'm going to go with Sammy by a tiger's tail hair.
We'll see soon. What say you? GoTiGERS!

Is there any question that Clowney will go #1?

Bob McNair literally owns the top pick.

I'd be kind of surprised if the Texans take Clowney...

Their need for a QB is too large to not go after a Bridgewater, Manziel, or Bortles. Plus they already have JJ Watt, and Clowney has too many question marks.

Trade the pick would be the smart thing to do.

Also - Remember the alma mater of the owner of the Texans.

But you've got to have a dancing partner to trade,

I don't know if anybody really wants the #1 pick this year since none of the QBs seem like the type that will get a team to the Super Bowl.

I think Bortles will get the pick w/ QB spot a priority, and

how long has Johnson been playing? 10 years or so I think so I see them looking at Sammy next excluding any deals or trades.

But there are so many QB's that are all about the same

this draft, I don't think there'd be too much of a drop off between taking Bortles/Manziel in the first round vs taking Boyd/Murray/McCarron/Carr in the second or third round.
That is their need but it's a deep position this year so their second pick go after a QB, first pick should be DL/OL imo

That is a valid argument...

In fact, you may only see two QB's taken in the entire first round, if that.

Very big difference between this year's

QB depth and last year's.
I personally think if a team takes Manziel with their first pick that they're stupid, but then again I'm not paid the big bucks they are to make those calls

I doubt Sammy will go number one,

just cause the Texans don't need another WR right now, at least not in the first 2 rounds.
I don't think they'll trade their pick, although they could, but I doubt someone would give up a ton to move up and take a WR number one.
Something to watch for is Atlanta maybe trying to trade up from the 5 spot (I think) and get Clowney, especially if the Texans pass and take a gamble on Manziel (which would be stupid imo)

Clowney may still be on the board when ATL picks

The only other team ahead of Atlanta that I see possibly taking Clowney is Jacksonville and they need a QB too.

will have a longer, more productive NFL career. I just hope he goes somewhere with a good QB.

Does the NFL want very talented players who take plays off?

Or very talented players who go all out all the time! A good scout would take Sammy before Clowney anytime, I would venture to say!

Is this serious? It should be Clowney or a QB?

Houston needs a QB much more than a WR, and they would take one if there was a clear cut great QB- since there's not, a freak of an athlete like Clowney is the other option. A WR is not an option based on their needs.

All he cares is that Clowney is not in the same Conference.

I dont know who will go first, but supposedly the Clown will go as a line backer and not an end.
