There’s been some discussion like during today’s game that the ACC may only get 4 teams this year. If that’s true then the Tigers may have fallen to the bubble. Virginia has the series win over Clemson and decent RPI. I think the Tigers will need to finish strong and achieve something in the ACCT. Right now they are in a log jam with the Cavs and Jackets for that fourth spot in the conference standings.

Yeah. Definitely can't afford to slip any further. Although I still think acc gets 5 in. But, like basketball, can definitely be some conference championship drama with at large bids.
Good news is there's no reason for us not to finish the season 7-0. Encouraging that, less today, we did score runs on Dooks. We have ND and Louisville. Probably the only one that could possibly win a game would be ND.

Coach Rittman said in Saturday's interview after the game that feels like the Tigers best days are ahead of them,we shall see starting Wednesday against Winthrop.Going 7-0 to finish the regular season sure would make things a heckuva lot easier on everyone associated with the program stress wise as they go into the ACC Tournament and as far as getting into the NCAA Tournament also.Virginia and Georgia Tech have a tough road ahead of them the next 2 weeks as both will play each other in Atlanta to finish out the regular season and before that Georgia Tech has to go to Virginia Tech and Virginia has to go to Duke.So Tigers need to take care of business and sweep both Notre Dame(23-17 7-11 ACC) and Louisville(24-18 5-10 ACC) and therefore widen the gap in standings before going into the ACC Tournament. That's what needs to be happen but will it happen is the question,so that why I'll take coach Rittman's word for it when say that the Tigers better days are ahead of them.

I was thinking a 5-2 record would a be decent finish, but of course a loss can’t be against Winthrop. Based on who the other ACC teams are playing that should put them in the top 4. A15-9 conference record is actually better than the ‘22 regular season (14-10). I think the Tigers played enough strong competition out of conference to offset the lighter conference slate. Atleast the RPI SOS seems to indicate that. Anyhow, the team needs to shake off this weekend and go win some games. That’s what they did right after a similar home series against FSU last year.

I'm hoping that Val comes back soon and Rittman can get the infield

figured out - best players at the best position for them - and we can make a strong run in the ACCT. That's our best shot to get back into good standing in the NCAA.

I think this is the best infield alignment we will get. Brown’s arm strength and slower reactions to get after ground balls was getting exploited by opponents. Rittman had already tried her at short early in the season, so 2nd base is the best of a not ideal situation. Logoleo is athletic enough to play 3rd but is inconsistent, so that’s just going to be the deal. The hard grounder she almost gloved in the 5th yesterday Brown would hardly have moved out of her stance as it flew by. Moore at short is mostly working. She’s been terrific at second the past two seasons because her tendency for poor throws is not as likely from the right side. However, where things really need to improve is at catcher. Vieira lets way too many pitches in the dirt get to the backstop. It’s particularly bad with runners on 1st and 2nd, or a runner at third with 2 outs. Those are situations where you have to really buckle down and just smother the errant pitch. Alas, that’s been the situation all season so no reason to think the staff is going to get it corrected.
