I’m not really interested in the specific case but the general concept. I was worried about this for Clemson. But Tennessee is hiring Pruitt (ala def coord). He is staying until the cfp game. On one hand I like this and would hope my guys would do the same. But at the same time, if you think that the early signing period is December 20 And he needs all the recruiting he can get in. Even one recruit could make the difference. How could you afford not to assume the reigns and begin. And if you don’t how do you deal with the conflict between coaching this team and preparing for next job?

Someone mentioned that it is in their contracts that they have to stay through the playoffs.

That's one problem with early signing

period, especially with CFP coaches. If you leave, it's harming the players who have worked hard all season. If you don't you're harming recruiting for the new team. If you split time it's tough for everyone. Once dead period hits on the 18th, not a problem.

Not to mention the scenario where an early enrollee recruit has say Tennessee and Bama in their final 3. Don't know what you do in that situation.
