Philip Florenzo: walk-on. Scholarship?

If our long snapper, who recovered a muffed punt, is not on scholarship, can we get him some NIL $$$ ?. What a great young man! He walked on at Clemson and he was/is non on scholarship - racking up student loans. Get this kid a scholarship AND some NIL money!

Maybe his family is wealthy enough, or perhaps Philip has also managed to contribute towards the cost of his education, to not take out a student loan in order to pay for his education.

In other words, maybe the Lorenzo family is making an in-kind donation to IPTAY while Philip gets a superior education.

Yep. He may just be like every other kid on campus and not a destitute and doesn’t want a scholy cause he doesn’t want to be roasted on Tigernet as one of Dabos useless walk on scholy recipients. Did he go to Daniel?

The assumption being, then, that 1) they haven’t already looked to the portal for someone good enough to have the job AND a scholarship and 2) that the player who came to a tryout with no expectations of a place on the team much less a scholarship isn’t good enough to EARN the spot. Do you honestly think the coaching staff hasn’t already evaluated the portal before they make the decision to offer the walk-on? Besides a portal player ain’t coming without a guarantee of a scholarship and over the past 2 years (post-Covid) there haven’t been any scholarships to offer. Next year there should be and if a portal player will help us the coaches will take them
