Now that the dust is settling and Clemson Football has evolved a bit....

One question remains...will there be any significant changes to special teams and that coaching staff or coordinator?

I think it has indeed settled. For now.

“For now.”
So you’re saying there’s a chance?

I’m with you. I’ve stated several times that good high school teams have better special teams than we do. Field position is key, and we lose that battle in a big way every game. That puts tremendous pressure on our defense.
We have had at least one notable return, but as a general rule, our return game is on punts and kickoffs is absent. That puts pressure on our offense to drive 80 yards or so for a touchdown. After we fumbled punt returns several times a few years ago, the strategy was just to let it roll. Then we started the fair catch, but almost never do we return the punt.
We really could help our offense and defense by beefing up special teams, most notably the punt and punt return games.

YES! Our ST puts the team in such disadvantaged situations

It is progressed to the point that our ST are just strangely weirdly awful.

"smarter than Dabo" in every way. I am sure it wouldn't take long.
also DavidHood® could you add a hot key that just generates this text so we don't have to type it?
example: generates "Any high school coach does special teams better than Dabo", "any 12 year old knows how to punt"
something like that.
TIA

Listen, tool, nobody is saying they’re smarter than Dabo. He’s a great coach and is doing his best to get us back to the top. He can’t fix everything at once, but special teams needs attention. Tools. What can you do with’em?

I’m sensing that you don’t quite understand the purpose of a fan message board. Maybe, just maybe, it’s not your thing.

It’s funny how instead of engaging in the actual debate or adding something meaningful to the conversation, you just default to snarky comments.
If you have a retort about this post about special teams, why not share it? Otherwise, posts like this don’t add anything to the discussion. It's one trick pony posting and I am glad others are finally seeing it.

If I remember correctly Danny Ford played starters on special teams. Are we playing starters?

Or as few as possible. That’s how Jay Haynes tore up his knee.
Also, things don’t get better by just changing ST coaches.
Staff can look at formation and personnel to effect change and improve efficiency.

With all of the coaches that a team is allowed now, I believe it is indeed time to hire a coach who’s sole responsibility is Special Teams.

It’s like your Scok’s. When I’m ready, I get them banned and you have to change it again.
Similar to your diapers.
