As many of you might have gleaned, Mrs. Tig's mom has been in and out of the hospital since early December, and we brought her home again yesterday...this time with in-home hospice. I met Mrs. Tig and bro-in-law to sit through all of the hospice paperwork last evening. Took about an hour and a half to get done, and the nurse got the last signature on papers and went to do the evaluation when we realized that she had quietly passed.
It was kind of a shock that she went so quick, but everyone seems to be holding up well. Y'all have probably heard me say before that I always felt like I hit the lottery with in-laws...great people that I love and respect. I'm going to miss mom-in-law, she was definitely a high energy person that was always fun to be around. If there is a bright side, it's that now Mrs. Tig won't have to suffer the horror of having to move in and care for a parent that was slowly slipping away. The hospital stays were hard enough.
Thoughts, prayers, and vibes are appreciated, and make sure you let the people you love know it. Because you never know.
