Not going to be fixed overnight

First thing that needs to happen is this offense has to go. The “Raid” offense is not the answer, it’s soft and creates a weak defense. Also need to trim down the coaching roster. There are too many voices in each room. No need for two linebacker coaches, two d line coaches and two secondary coaches. Outside of Luke and Spiller the whole offensive coaching staff needs to be changed. I would give Allen one more year but the staff under him needs to be shrunk. There’s still plenty enough talent on this roster to win, they just need to be coached up and play tough hard nosed football. They are soft.

some gaping holes with hardly a worthy starter and certainly no depth. A few coaches need to be replaced for sure. Our players are poorly physically conditioned. Other than that, we are doing great.

True but, they need to look a lot better at the August kickoff at LSU.

Dabo's teams have always stumbled out of the gate. Probably not going to change now.

I think there are way too many questions on CJ as an RB coach. No prior experience. I do not think Dabo will get rid of him (I think Dabo owes his coaching career for CJ staying in 2009 after the 2008 season when he took over), but he could possibly find another position in the organization than on the field coaching.
We do have two 4 star RBs that are on the roster (so you can argue he can recruit), and its blocking that is probably preventing them from more PT (coaching), but I think we all can agree that you shouldn't have to move a WR in his senior year to RB to have a solid RB.
The regression of the OL is the biggest head scratcher, but with 6 4 star OL coming in this Jan, Luke will have his guys and zero excuses if they don't improve as a group knowing it takes most OL a year or two to develop. You don't always get a Mitch Hyatt that can start day one as a freshman (you can throw Blake Miller in there too as a guy that started day one and Sean Pollard is another one that came to mind).

Isn't his recruiting the problem?

are you talking about Spiller or Luke ?

I assume you’re talking Spiller since Luke hasn’t need there long enough to make a difference on recruiting that takes a few years to show up on the field. Especially when you’re told the players are here and you don’t need any out the transfer portal or we’re not going to pay those guys enough to get them.

4 years,, lauded as our best lineman and wouldn’t have seen the field as a tackle for any of the real contenders

With as poor as the offensive line has been, there's no fair way to evaluate the RBs.
The offensive line not sucking every game would fix everything.

Offensive linemen don't hit anybody. Its like they are setting a screen in basketball. As a defensive lineman you got to love playing against Clemson. Nobody is going to hit you. When Brandon Jacobs came in a few games ago, it was the first time I saw our OL hit someone.

Until Dabo changes his philosophy regarding portal/recruiting, nothing will change. This team is lacking real talent at LB and the secondary for sure. The Dline is puzzling because their should be enough talent there to be better. They are just so soft, when is the last time our D stopped someone and 4th and short? We used to be dominant up front and teams would just punt it on 4th and short, but we get blown 5 yards off the ball each time now. Offensively we are lacking a bug time playmaker at QB and a true RB. Etienne took pressure off the Qb because he would house one at any time. Now our backs always get chased down from behind, just no homerun threat anymore to strike fear in the defenses. Randall is giving 110% but just isnt a back and has no vision to turn 10 yard gains into big plays . Not seeing this in the offseason and getting help is squarely on DABO. Dabo has not helped himself in the media this year blaming fans and such , and so far has not show that he realizes what the problems are. He is at a crossroads like SABAN was and needs to decide if he can embrace the new era of football or get out of the way and let Clemson improve.

With the portal you literally can fix it overnight with the right group of coaches. We don't have the right group of coaches and the head man is looking like part of the problem, not part of the solution.

You nailed it ! The Dabo homers that love Dabo more than Clemson can’t admit this but you are 100% spot on !

This is Clemson. In a weakened ACC, we should be a dominant program every single year. The idea that it “takes time” falls flat when non-traditional programs—without our history, resources, or recruiting footprint—are flipping their identity in 12–18 months. Look around: schools with half our budget and none of our legacy are building tough, disciplined teams while we’re still debating whether the “Raid” offense is too soft.
Let’s be real:
The issue isn’t scheme alone—it’s stewardship. Blaming the “Raid” offense for defensive softness is lazy. Toughness is a culture, not a playbook.
Coaching bloat? Maybe. But trimming voices only works if the remaining ones are aligned and accountable. You can shrink the staff and still get noise if the doctrine isn’t clear.
Talent isn’t the problem. We’ve got enough on the roster to win the ACC. What’s missing is clarity of identity, tactical discipline, and a willingness to trial ideas instead of recycling slogans.
You want hard-nosed football? Then demand hard-nosed leadership. Not just “change the offense”—change the standard.

Well, threatening to take your ball and go home isn’t exactly “hard- nosed leadership” if we’re tired of winning. .

We have less talent than top ACC teams at the following positions.
QB RB OL DB (safeties) LB (exception of Sammy)
None addressed adequately via portal before season started. I’m sure we thought we were good reading all the preseason press.
We were not!
