That'd be nice, but what about Prather? Is he not developing? Reason I'm asking is he's from Cali like Savoie as well. Coming out of high school, actually rated higher than nate.

I was a bit shocked that he didn't get more games mid-week. It was obvious that JJ was a favorite of EB.

Prather was hurt all year. Unfortunately this makes it seem like we aren't done with losing players to the portal. Mostly hitters it seems.

When did he get reinjured. I never heard coach say anything. He did great in summer ball last year and had a good fall. I know he got to hit a couple times in March and April. Then unc. He was talking about playing summer ball... I knew he redshirt 24 because he'd been injured. I must have to go back and read the pre season breakdown. Hmm.

We have 4 catchers on the roster now, with 34 spots doesn't seem like we would carry all 4, when you have a guy like Gaffney that can fill in (although he's not very good back there) or if this Savoie kids comes? But who knows what their plan is?

Savoie played mostly outfield I think, although he did spend time at catcher and DH. I would imagine the plan is to make him an OF/DH and catch midweek maybe. Bakich loves Jarrell so I can't see anyone taking over his spot until 2027. Maybe a similar situation to Gaffney, it never hurts to have starting-level guys who can catch in a pinch.
