My family is close to the family of a playoff selection…

committee member. We bumped into them today and long story short…
1) UGA did not impress him. He mentioned poor special teams play and offensive issues. 2) If Clemson wins out he feels they will be picked over a one loss UGA team. He didn’t go into detail as to why, other than to mention the committee takes into account youth at the beginning of a season, which we had at key positions.
He emphasized that a lot can change during the season, and this is only based on one game, which isn’t a very large sample size. Take it for what it’s worth, but please don’t shoot the messenger.

UGA generally plays their best football the first 6 games or so. They, in the past, have faltered during the back half of the season for some reason.

FM you are funny. I am a fan.
Like you and your friend, I have football experience (as a fan). I am sure the Tiger team will be greatly improved by CFP time. All could see this team was not ready. By December they will be ready for all (and that is not "fan speak") UGA will be a wreck by then. I do hope we meet them again, but doubt they make it in.

Well I ran into a playoff committee member today and let's just say he will make a full recovery eventually. Maybe even in time to vote.

Lighten up Frances
Explain the "poor special teams play."
Was it the 4-5 UGA punts falling inside your 5-10 yeard line all night or the terrible call by the refs where the ball "glanced off" our player down field.
You and your bs story are being whored out on Twitter by the way.
Go DAWGS!!!

Thnx for passing this along... won't matter until December and we have to be 1 loss ACC Champs, pretty simple.

I too have family friends that are college football playoff selection committee members and they said that there is about a 90% chance both teams would finish out their year undefeated and that a rematch between the two teams was inevitable in the first round of the playoffs. I am just glad that our staff did not tip their hand as to how they will approach that game on offense.
