1) Thou shalt not serve Hamburgers and Hotdogs and call it a "BBQ"
2) Thou shalt not pre-sauce and rest meat in sauce
3) Thou shalt not sauce with mustard...you can use it for a dry binding agent
4) Thou shalt not chop Brisket...Chopping it means you didn't cook it right
5) Thou shalt only serve Pork, Beef, Chicken and sometimes Sausage as BBQ
6) Thou shalt not smoke BBQ with an automated pellet smoker
7) Thou shalt never serve meatless meat
8) Thou shalt eat BBQ with thine hands
9) Thou shalt not chop pork only pull it
10) Thou shalt respect the hierarchy of BBQ - Sliced Brisket>Pulled Pork>Ribs>Smoked Chicken>Sausage

Pretty much agree with all, but I am about to break #6. I have had a New Braufels offset smoker for years and love it. Have always said smoking with pellets is cheating, however recently my smoker took a direct hit from a falling tree and is out of commission now. I'm probably going to break down and buy a Trager.

You can still cook a brisket perfectly and still choose to chop it up. Its called various choices to maybe even please guest or comply to certain requests guests may have. For example....lets say an elderly person without teeth wants a brisket. They're not trying to chew a slice brisket...... they may find it easier to have it finely chopped.

Ever had BBQ'd shrimp? They are pretty good. Ever had BBQ'd grouper, mahi, wahoo, striper, spot tail backbones? It's pretty good.
Ever had BBQ'd red drum on the half-shell? Pretty good.
Venison shoulder or ham wrapped with bacon and BBQ'd? Missing out. How about BBQ'd wild turkey breast? Pretty good! How about Moose Loin?
So my overall question is are you confusing BBQ with grilled, smoked or grilled? I dont think you really BBQ brisket do you? Some ppl think if you put meat on a grill it is called BBQ. Had me severely confused when I was in Australia.

I utterly despise you.
(1) Mustard sauce is the best BBQ sauce. It's also the only uniquely South Carolina sauce. You might as well just admit you're a New Yorker. You should be banned on this forum.
(2) Where is hash? Again, you're not a Southerner.
(3) Who eats pulled pork with their hands, unless it's in a sandwich? But I assume you don't think through sandwiches since you didn't mention slaw.
(4) The fact that you put brisket as king, instead of in the trash where it belongs, shows you're not a Southerner.
