Men's tennis: #33 Clemson vs #35 Notre Dame, 12 noon Sunday, Preview

This is a very important match for the Tigers for the outlook for the rest of the season. With a win we will jump up into the top 25 and can start turning our sights higher. A loss and we would fall to lower 30s and have to worry a bit more and have some more pressure moving forward.

Notre Dame is 10-3 on the year with losses to #20 Princeton, #15 Illinois and a somewhat surprising loss on Friday to #54 Georgia Tech. They lost to Illinois in a very similar way to how we did vs the Illini, a 4-3 heartbreaker after winning doubles and losing 4 singles courts.

Last year we lost to ND 4-1 in South Bend but then got revenge in the ACC tournament by beating them 4-1 to end their season on the wrong side of the NCAA tournament bubble.

Notre Dame projected singles lineup:

1. #39 Sebastian Dominko, Jr. Maribor, Slovenia
2. Chase Thompson, So. Newport Beach, CA
3. Yu Zhang, Sr. Jiangxi, China
4. Peter Nad, Fr. Kosice, Slovakia
5. Jameson Corsillo, Sr. Boca Raton, FL
6. Kyran Magimay, So. Hersham, England

Hopefully Vukadin can break out of his mini slump. He will need it against a tough ranked lefty player at #1. I like our chances in the lower parts of the lineup. We should win at 2,5 and 6. Courts 3-4 are swing matches. And have to lean our way in doubles to.
