This team should be playing a super. At least. To see how great this team was for the first time we’ve had something like that in a long time, it just plain hurts right now.
I was so sure that we would all feel the love for Omaha again. I truly hope to have that feeling for everybody again.
You can’t say this wasn’t a great season, ACC Championship and everything else done. And you can’t be mad at Bakich, he’s different for sure.
This is simply the best college baseball fan base and location. Baseball runs deep in Clemson and in this state. It’s extremely coveted even more so than football for many people.
I personally have a love for baseball more than any other sport. It’s such a smooth sport, and it’s just unbelievable to see what these young men put themselves through and how they perform. In my opinion the most difficult sport. It looks learnable, but to actually do things like Cam robbing a home run, it sends chills down your spine.
But regardless of my rambling, the Tennessee game just won’t leave my mind. That was one a dagger.

I'm surprised by how much heat our pitching staff received this year on these boards. Our team ERA was 20th in the nation at 4.30! Only 8 teams have an ERA below 4.00. Wake Forest is the only team sub 3.00.
I think our pitching staff was way better than we give them credit for with that perspective. After the GT series, our pitching was really consistent and got us to where we were.

We def didn’t lose that game or the CLT game bc of pitching … we lost bc the small things like getting bunts down, making some type of contact with the bases loaded and no outs, not whiffing on catching an easy breaking pitch trying to frame it in extras…things we had done so well the previous 30 games and it came back to bite us. We just didn’t execute the fundamentals like we had been , I thought the pitching staff was actually great and kept us in both games. Now you can argue the hr in the 9th but I question that decision as a whole… they weren’t hitting Grice hard , I’m def leaving him in one more AB and then with a 1-2 count I’m curious why we are grooving fastballs… it reminded me of the sat loss to Scar there was no need to give in right there… with all that said still a great season and def something to be excited about where this program could get back to!!

I with you on this. If it affected us this way, imagine the toll it took on the team only being one strike away from the W.

We literally needed one strike or one long fly ball to win…

… and we couldn’t get either when it counted.
Tennessee was just a better team and they deserved to win our regional.
Now we could argue that we got screwed on the seeding assignments and that Tennessee was too good to be a #2 in our regional. That I would not argue.
In any event, it’s over. Time to move on.

My quick take. The Tennessee game we played well enough to win it several times before extras. They did a great job in a good pitching matchup. 6 runs in 14 innings isn’t that bad really. We came up short in key moments. Losing Cam hurt our soul and then the Charlotte game was on the loss of Cam and being worn out emotionally and physically. It is what it is

I wish we we’re still playing too but I believe the team just ran out of gas. Watch conference tournaments and regionals and it always turns up. Tigers did really well this year with what they had. Monte can pat himself on the back wearing his coot suit because he left the baseball program in bad shape. Bakich and staff did a great job holding the team together. Outlook for Clemson baseball 2024 looks good!

won a ACC championship with all of monte recruit and by the way no one was recruiting Cam but Monte because he knows the coach at Hartsville, you just sit around and think Nonte left us bad if it makes you feel bad! You guys kill me, monte made it the same distance with Jacks recruits. Plus right now USC is beating us in state with kids where they were not with Monte here
